I founded Javra Software in 1999 in Druten, in the Netherlands. After a stable grow we decided in 2006 to expand abroad. First we were looking to start in the eastern part of Europe, which had an advantage with the time difference compared to the Netherlands. But the biggest problem was the availability of professional and affordable staff in Romania and Bulgaria.
So we decided to start in Nepal, a ‘small’ country between the 2 giants in the world, China and India. Early 2006 Javra Software Nepal was a fact, a 100% daughter of Javra Software B.V. in the Netherlands.
In 2011 we opened a third office, this time in Chengdu, China. An ultra modern city with over 14 million citizens. One of the ‘hottest’ cities in the world. The 2 countries have a lot of similarities and a lot of differences. I will share more of my experiences about starting companies in these countries. I probably can write a complete book about it, but i will save you from that. But i do feel very privileged to have this opportunity. And i do enjoy working with my colleagues in both countries and taste and smell the different cultures.
